About Granny NANNIES of Fort Lauderdale, FL

I'm John Rodriguez, of Granny NANNIES, and I want to tell you why we're so passionate about what we do. We speak to potential clients every day, and listen to their stories of loved ones with illnesses and challenges of advancing age. I know it feels to have the pain and the stress of needing home care for a loved one, because your story is my story.

More than 20 years ago, my father suffered from Alzheimer's and died in a nursing home. My family and I felt the pain of watching him lose his faculties, and we sadly watched the undignified manner in which he was cared after he left home. At Granny NANNIES we understand your needs, and my team and I work hard to gain your confidence and trust. Service for you is my passion, because I do believe there is a better way, and I certainly hope to speak to you soon, and see how we can help care for your loved one.

We proudly help those who are in the Palm Beach County and Broward County region; notably service Fort Lauderdale, Boynton Beach, Delray Beach, Palm Beach, Wellington, and every other city and town in the area. If you or a loved one are in the area, please call us.

History of Granny NANNIES

Granny NANNIES was founded in 1990 by Rob and Kirsten Hodgson in Central Florida as the result of a very personal, family situation - the need to find quality, trustworthy, reliable and affordable senior home care for Rob's aging grandmother, Esther Dowding, in her own Winter Park home.

The plight was similar to others across the country: an elderly parent with working adult children, who are parents themselves; a great-grandparent with a zest for life and a disabling physical condition; a senior with an undeniable need for homecare assistance doing everyday activities, yet with a determined desire to stay in their own home; or loved ones to whom a nursing home is "out of the question."

What's a family to do? Rob and Kirsten Hodgson moved to Florida from New Hampshire to care for Esther. With their own life to manage, Rob and Kirsten knew they needed help in caring for Esther and began a search to find competent, caring, affordable assistance. Their search turned up very little. In fact, there was a relative void in Central Florida for the type of home care services they sought. Clearly, a resource was needed.

Being "go-getters," Rob and Kirsten solved the problem for themselves and hundreds of other families by establishing Granny NANNIES of North America to offer specialized private duty home care services for the elderly.

And the rest is history! Since our beginnings in 1990, Granny NANNIES' commitment to excellence remains true today. A strong dedication remains to ensure that our clients are consistently treated with the highest level of respect and dignity and are matched with the right private duty caregiver to provide care services in the home, hospital, assisted living facility, or nursing home.

Esther, who lived to the age of 104, credited her longevity and well-being to Granny NANNIES. "She's the reason we started it all!" Says her grandson Rob, giving credit where credit is due.

Each Granny NANNIES location is independently owned and operated. Granny NANNIES Licensing Group, LLC and its affiliates do not control or manage the day-to-day business operations of any Granny NANNIES licensed locations. Each location chooses to operate one of two different types of business models. Some locations are providers of home care. These locations employ the care providers who provide home care for their clients. Other locations are care-provider referral services. These locations help match clients seeking a home care provider with pre-background-screened, pre-credential-verified care providers who operate independently and are not employees of the location. This business model supports consumer-directed home care, where the consumer determines all aspects of a home-care arrangement. You should contact a Granny NANNIES location directly to confirm the type of business model it operates.
