Will insurance cover this service?

  • Yes!

Our agency is credentialed by and works with all the major long-term care insurance vendors (e.g., Penn Treaty, Banker’s Life, CNA, Genworth, John Hancock, TransAmerica, New York Life, Mass Mutual, SHIP, UNUM, etc.)

We know that these policies are complicated and can be very confusing. If you would like more clarification on your policy and how you can use it towards paying for services, give us a call and we would be happy to discuss further and do a No-Cost Benefits Verification for you.

  • No. Unfortunately, Medicare does not pay for services like Granny NANNIES.

Granny NANNIES assist with day-to-day living tasks and are considered a “Non-Medical Home Care Services.” A good rule of thumb is that Medicare typically only covers temporary Home Care Services provided by Skilled Practitioners such as Physicians, RN's, PT's, OT's, etc. Services covered by Medicare are typically only 1-3 visits per week for about an hour each visit.

Most clients receiving Medicare Home Care Services often need additional help with day-to-day tasks. This support would be from a service like Granny NANNIES. Having a Granny Nanny provides valuable support, encouraging patients to stay engaged with physical and occupational therapy exercises between the 1-3 weekly visits, all while ensuring safety and supervision.

See this link for more information about what Medicare does and does not cover from the official Government Medicare website: www.medicare.gov/coverage/home-health-services

  • No. Much like Medicare, Traditional Health Insurance typically only covers Skilled Medical Visits and will not pay for Non-Medical Home Care Services. In most cases, the only type of insurance that will pay for Non-Medical Home Care Services is Long-Term Care Insurance or Disability Insurance.
